Thank you to The Westin Buffalo team for treating us to a wonderful overnight stay and indulgent dinner at Patina250 in exchange for this honest review!
A couple weeks ago, Luke and I packed our overnight bags, kissed the kiddos goodbye, and made our way downtown for a stay at The Westin Buffalo. Having never been to this particular hotel before, we didn’t quite know what to expect. It didn’t take us long to realize we were in for a special staycation experience!
When is the last time you’ve treated yourself to a shopping trip? (& no, we’re not talking groceries.) For me, it had been far too long! I was finding myself stuck between seasons, grabbing for the same few items from my closet every time I went to leave the house. Call it an unintentional capsule wardrobe, minus the quality pieces. It was time to spruce things up a bit.

As summer comes to a close and the temperature in Buffalo gets too weird to survive outdoor pool weather (read: 80 degrees one day, 60 degrees the next), my husband and I usually turn to some sort of swim school or program to keep our son active through the winter months and working hard on those water skills. That being said, I was pumped to check out the Goldfish Swim School – located at 950 Transit Road in Williamsville. Here are my thoughts on this place (spoiler alert: I’m in love).
Special thanks to the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls for sponsoring this post!
Confession time: I’ve had a habit of buying clothes for future children since I was 18 years old.
I specifically remember heading into the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls and being compelled to pick up a baby’s faux leather jacket for just 0.99 cents. I know this may be strange to you, but the bargain hunter in me knew the best deals come with time!
All the women in my family would take the short drive to the Outlets for everything from back-to-school shopping or clothes for a new jobs to Black Friday deals and seasonal closet refreshers.
When I was pregnant with my second child, Charlie, I went to the new H&M opening there and came home with several bags of clothes for baby, my husband, 4-year-old Fox, and me. Since then I’ve been heading back routinely to shop for the whole family.
This back to school season is no different!
One of my biggest nightmares as a mother came true two weeks ago when our daughter Marleigh (age 6.5) tripped in the back yard and broke her arm. Three days, one surgery with two pins, and a cast later, here we are.
