If you didn’t already know, we have quite a few food allergies in our household – my daughter is allergic to peanuts and my husband is allergic to eggs – which means baking often requires several substitutes to make things safe for everyone to enjoy. When Mother Nature’s Sugar reached out to us to send samples of their natural sweetener, I instantly jumped at the offer and started thinking of fun recipes to try with the kids.
Last night we had the pleasure of attending Disney On Ice: Worlds of Enchantment at KeyBank Center, thanks to tickets provided by Feld Entertainment. And today, we’re feeling extra thankful for a snow day to recover from all the excitement!
True life: I’ve never been to Disney. Despite the numerous adventures we’ve been on (summer-long trips and National Park hopping on the regular), our kids remind me somewhat regularly that we’ve never taken them to meet Mickey Mouse, and the FOMO heightened for them this past fall after their cousins returned from a family trip to Florida. So you can imagine their excitement when I presented them with the opportunity to see their favorite characters in real life close to home at Disney On Ice!
For the first time ever, I am a proud owner of a real Christmas tree. The gifts are almost wrapped. The elves are up their usual antics….and if I am being honest…..even better, more elaborate antics, since the 12 year-old is now in on the “gig.” If someone looked in on our life via our Christmas greetings or even through the window of our home, it looks, sounds and smells like Christmas per usual.
‘Tis the season to indulge in all the sweet treats and classic Christmas dishes! So far this month, we’ve made cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies, Chex mix, chocolate chip cookies, and Rice Krispy treats. Just thinking about it all gives me a bit of a stomach ache (and makes me realize I desperately need to hit the gym after Christmas!).
