A couple weeks ago, a few of my girlfriends and I kissed our kiddos goodbye and left to enjoy a weekend “Galentine’s” celebration in Medina at the Hart House Hotel. While it’s never easy to leave our kids and responsibilities behind without feeling the dreaded “Mom Guilt,” it’s definitely necessary once in a while.
This past weekend, we headed out in our new camper for a visit to Green Lakes State Park in East Syracuse to celebrate the Memorial Day holiday. Before we left, we checked the weather only to realize that Sunday was looking iffy at best with a whole lot of rain in the forecast. If you’ve ever been camping with kids before, you know that rain + campgrounds = MUD. We started searching for places nearby that we could take the kids to for a few hours to get out of the elements, if need be. A simple Google search led us to find the MoST Museum in downtown Syracuse, and we were happy to find that it was only a 20 minute drive from where we were staying!
With my husband’s spring break approaching last month, we debated for a while about whether or not we wanted to take a vacation with the kids to Myrtle Beach like we had in years past. Since Easter was so early this year, we weren’t sure if the weather down south would live up to expectations or warrant such a long drive with two little ones – so instead, we decided to take a mini “Staycation” and ventured to Rochester to check out the Museum of Play!
