Growing up, I never officially learned to swim. We lived in Queens, so the only swimming pool I had access to was the Atlantic Ocean, and with the strong riptides, it wasn’t a very safe place for a lesson. We would jump the waves, get pounded, and were able to make it to shore when we’d had enough, but you won’t see me in the deep end of a pool.
A few months ago, my husband, son, and I were cruising the (Walden) Galleria Mall and stumbled upon a newly-opened Billy Beez (BB). We didn’t bother going in for two reasons: the first was that it seemed too advanced for our 2-year old, and the second was that it seemed kind of expensive. I felt that same reluctance last week when asked to pay this place a visit… but, I opted to take one for the team, just so Buffalo Moms everywhere could get the scoop about BB!
We may or may not be done having kids. There. I said it. In the most non-committal way possible. At the very least, I am done living in our modest house with so much baby stuff that I may or MAY NOT ever have a need for, ever again. Now that I’ve been around the baby block twice, I know that 90% of the stuff was had was completely unnecessary. I’m talking to you, baby swing, bouncy seat, changing pads #2 and 3… We only have two kids!
A few months ago, my son was invited to his first “school” birthday party, which just so happened to take place at Leaps N’ Bounce, located near Bill Grays off of Main Street in Williamsville. Never having heard of it before, my husband and I were excited for the opportunity to check out a new place where our high-energy 2.5 year old could play during the winter months. The party turned out to be a success AND we have had several successful trips there since.
