Maker Moms – Elle Pea Tee

“Maker Moms” is a segment of the Buffalo Moms Blog where we highlight talented mommas and their handmade businesses. Today’s feature, Elle Pea Tee, is one of my favorite features yet! Lindsay over at EPT graciously sent us over a few products to review and I can’t wait to share them with you!

I first came across Elle Pea Tee products through a sponsored Facebook post (social media FTW) and was instantly intrigued by her Activated Charcoal Tooth Powder, so when we agreed to collaborate, I crossed my fingers that it would be one of the products she would ask me to review! When the mail came, I couldn’t wait to give it a try, and I am hooked. The results have been incredible after only a week of use – see for yourself!

While the toothpaste has gotten the majority of my praise, I’m just as obsessed with the vanilla bean sugar lip scrub and tinted lip balm I got to try out and I already can’t wait to purchase more Elle Pea Tee creations (currently eyeing up the lip plumper and coffee sugar scrub).

Take a look at our Q&A session with Lindsay, the Maker Mom behind ETP and head to her shop to see the goods for yourself! Be sure to make it to the bottom of the post for a special Buffalo Moms promo code!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your family:
My name is Lindsay. I grew up in Youngstown, NY and I now live in Buffalo with my husband Michael and two spunky children, McKenna (4) and James (3).

What made you decide to start your own handmade business?
I have been making sugar scrubs and “potions” ever since I was little. I worked as a nurse for years and after I had my children, I decided that I wanted to take that passion for creating and take it to the next level. I was sitting at work one day and I said, “I’m going to start my own business” and it grew from there. Two and a half years later, Elle Pea Tee continues to thrive!

Do you sell your products locally as well as online?
I have products in 18 locations throughout WNY (you can find a full list here) and six stores around the country. I private label products for a luxury maternity boutique in Williamsville and I’m working on some really fun products for an organic beauty store in East Aurora right now. I also make soap out of locally brewed craft beers and those are starting to pop up internationally (Australia loves beer soap!). The bulk of my collections can be found in my Etsy store.

What are your goals for your shop?
My goals for Elle Pea Tee are lofty and they change constantly. My main goal is to maintain the special relationships I have with my clients and customers. That’s one of the biggest perks of my VIP club; I love to spoil my loyal followers! My short term goal for my shop is to spruce up my product photography and organize my listings.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your motherhood journey thus far?
The most important thing I have learned in my motherhood journey is time management. There are never enough hours in the day for any of us, but focusing on what is really important (my family) makes the success that I have achieved thus far in business that much sweeter.

Okay, Moms. Here’s the fun part! Head to and use promo code “BuffaloMaker” for $5.00 off your purchase of $30.00 or more!
