Moms’ Night in Medina

A couple weeks ago, a few of my girlfriends and I kissed our kiddos goodbye and left to enjoy a weekend “Galentine’s” celebration in Medina at the Hart House Hotel. While it’s never easy to leave our kids and responsibilities behind without feeling the dreaded “Mom Guilt,” it’s definitely necessary once in a while.

When we checked into Hart House, we were all surprised at how well decorated and modern our rooms were! The Hart House arranged for us to stay in the Astor and Churchill rooms, which were both very generously sized. The bathrooms – particularly the oversized shower heads – were a big hit (we all know hot showers are a hot commodity in mom world) and the beds were very cozy!

We met up with Scott and Al of In a DC Minute for a quick photo shoot in the rooms, where they photographed us in our natural habitat: sipping wine while being overly talkative and giggly. On our way to head to dinner, we swung by 810 Meadworks for a sampling of homemade mead (my favorite was the Sweet Devotion, a flavorful red) and a few more laughs!

The rest of our night in Medina consisted of walking to dinner at Zambistro (I’m still dreaming of the parmesan fries and quiche appetizer), grabbing a drink at Fitzgibbons Pub after asking a local on the street for his recommendation of a good bar scene in town, and then heading back to 810 Meadworks for a cocktail and bar-side s’mores!

We made it back to Hart House well past our typical “bed times” and woke up feeling nice and rested. A good, old-fashioned diner breakfast from The Country Club restaurant in town cured any hint of hangovers before we parted ways and returned to reality.

While celebrating Galentine’s Day is hopefully going to be an annual event, I hereby declare that kicking mom guilt in the face and getting away for girls’ weekends should definitely happen more often! Special thanks to Hart House for offering to host us for the weekend!

Buffalo Moms Rating

I would recommend a stay at Hart House without hesitation! The entire experience of our stay in Medina surpassed any and all expectations that I had going into our weekend. From the hospitality of the hotel to the surprisingly delicious meal at Zambistro and the unique atmosphere at 810 Meadworks, every aspect of our overnight left a lasting impression. I can’t wait to head back to Hart House – hopefully next time for a romantic “stay cation!”
