“Don’t play with your food” is something we’ve all probably said 385,195,961 times as mothers. And while I’m all for supporting good table manners, some rules are meant to be broken. Enter: MojiMaker, a hands-on gadget that allows your kids to have fun with their food while also encouraging them to eat their fruits and vegetables. It’s a win-win, if you ask us!
This past weekend, we were given four tickets to see the performance of “Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook” at the Theatre Of Youth. Our excited kindergartener practically skipped her way into the theatre, excited to see the characters she’s been reading about in school come to life on the stage. Our son (age 3.5), was equally as excited – although we were admittedly a bit anxious to see how he would sit for an hour+ long performance.
Last night, fellow Buffalo Mom, Stacey Marks, and I took our littles to see Disney on Ice’s presentation of Frozen – and boy did it not disappoint.
Me: “I wonder if I’ll even remember any of the songs from this movie…. It’s been a while since we’ve seen it…..”
As a mother, I’ve found that you fall into one of two camps: You LOVE back to school season, or you HATE back to school season. I have my feet planted firmly in the latter group. Many moms will tell you that your feelings on school will shift as your children grow older. The stomach-sinking feeling of sending your kid off to kindergarten supposedly turns to feelings of freedom and joy as they move up in grade levels. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Summer vacation is in full swing around here, and although Mother Nature has been a bit too generous with the rain, we’ve all adjusted well to less routine, more Rose’ and getting through our aggressive “Summer wish list.” Our kids are much more independent than in years past and in an effort to not overschedule them, they have been given the gift of a bit more freedom to pick and choose their activities (and when they would like to complete their daily chores.)
