Now that we’re a solid month into the school year and my routine is finally becoming routine, I’ve had the chance to reflect on this new phase of motherhood. I call it… the phase of pick up lines. No, not the “Did you fall from Heaven?” type. I’m talking the rush-from-the-house, throw-some-mascara-on, pray-to-God-your-two-year-old-behaves, stand-outside-waiting-for-11AM pick up lines.

A few weeks ago, I was approached by Michael of Rustic Willow Studio to get together for a family photo session at Tifft Nature Preserve. Since family pictures are kinda-sorta like my love language, I hesitated for maybe .2 seconds before I replied with an enthusiastic YES!
The crisp air this past weekend could not have been more conducive to beginning the “Summer-to-Fall” transition process. Orange, yellow, and brown mantel decor? Check. Apple scented candles? Check. Pumpkin spice everything? You know it.
Once September hits, we all likely fall into one of two groups: people holding on to summer for dear life, or those anxiously waiting for fall, PSL and cinnamon brooms in hand. This past weekend, I was able to have the best of both worlds.
